Lincy and Pramod John met in college and settled down in 1988. After post graduation in English literature, Pramod went on to study computer science and Lincy further honed her artistic side through Bharatnatyam and painting. They were deeply motivated to create social impact so in 1992, the couple started the NGO, ‘Prakruthi’ in Bangalore with the idea of providing training in painting, dance and computer literacy to underserved children in slums in the city.
Lincy used her talents in painting, dancing, and cultural art forms to begin training vulnerable children in these areas. When she saw the incredible impact it had on them, her commitment deepened and today Prakruthi’s work has expanded to meaningfully serve children through a diversity of impactful programs and expressive arts therapy as a tool for healing.
